What is IV sedation dentistry?
IV sedation, also known as sleep dentistry, delivers medication through an IV to help you enter a deep, dream-like state. You will feel very comfortable and likely won't remember the procedure, while still breathing naturally throughout treatment. It is administered by board-certified surgeons trained to safely monitor you during the entire procedure.
What sedation options are available at Watts Dental?
Watts Dental offers multiple sedation options: nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for mild relaxation, oral conscious sedation for moderate anxiety, and IV sedation for deeper relaxation. Oral sedation can also be combined with nitrous oxide for an enhanced effect.
Will I be able to drive after sedation?
Nitrous oxide wears off quickly and most patients can safely drive themselves home after their appointment. For IV sedation or oral conscious sedation, you will need a responsible adult (18 or older with a valid driver's license) to drive you home.
Does sedation dentistry help with dental anxiety?
Yes, sedation dentistry is designed to help patients feel calm, comfortable, and stress-free during their visit, making it an excellent option for those with dental anxiety or fear of the dentist.
